Why isn’t this just another Hallberg-Rassy 42E?
Over the past six years, more than 300 individual improvements have been made with one goal in mind: to create the finest and most reliable HR42E currently available.
Instead of buying a yacht and spending the next two years and €100,000 replacing the standing rigging, teak deck, portholes, hatches, electronics, batteries, plumbing, upholstery, underwater coating, and countless other systems and tasks, you can simply step aboard and cast off.

This Hallberg-Rassy 42E has just completed a 1,060 Nm voyage in Greece and was hauled out in Karlovasi, Samos, on August 24, 2026, where she will be available for inspection. The original Hallberg-Rassy factory specifications can be found on the Hallberg-Rassy website.
If you are looking for an exceptionally well-maintained and extensively refitted Hallberg-Rassy 42E, I would be happy to answer your questions or arrange a viewing.
During our search, we visited and compared a number of Hallberg-Rassy 42s throughout Europe. One thing became very clear: the 42E is a very different yacht from the later Frers-designed HR42F. Thanks to her flush deck, the HR42E offers significantly more interior volume, larger cabins, and a much more spacious feel both below deck and on deck, making her an outstanding cruising yacht for extended stays aboard.
Naturally, this is not a new yacht. However, virtually every major system that owners of similar yachts eventually need to replace has already been renewed or upgraded during our ownership. Standing rigging, portholes, hatches, electronics, batteries, plumbing, upholstery, underwater hull restoration, navigation equipment, anchoring system, solar installation, and countless other improvements have already been completed.
Simply replacing the 33 m², 12 mm high-quality teak deck cost €60,000 (but it is no longer available). When you add the many other upgrades listed on this page, it becomes clear that purchasing a less expensive yacht and bringing it up to the same standard would require a very substantial additional investment, both financially and in terms of time.
Instead, Tranquilo is ready to set sail today. Whether your dream is to cruise the Mediterranean, cross the Atlantic, or simply own one of the finest Hallberg-Rassy 42Es available, she is ready for many more years of safe, comfortable, and enjoyable sailing.
She certainly made our dreams come true—and we hope she will make yours come true as well.
The price for this HR42E is €219,000 (VAT included)
